Pipefitter Foreman

Department: Commercial Construction
Location: Chandler, AZ

The foreman's responsibility is the overall supervision of his crew to produce the project as per plans and specifications within the established budget.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the project to include interaction with clients and other trades.
  • Full understanding of all project documentation to include submittals and specifications.
  • Mentoring and Development of Spectrum employees assigned to you.
  • Manage and coordinate with sub-contractors.
  • QA/QC Adherence.
  • Provide input during the preplanning phase of the project.
  • Proactive Material Management.
  • Generate complete field material takeoff.
  • Manage daily and weekly reporting.
  • Lead effective daily huddles.
  • Participate in manpower projection.
  • All financials associated with the job. (budget)
  • Coordinate any prefabrication work that is required for the project.
  • Tool Management.
  • Site/laydown housekeeping and organization.
  • Create and maintain ongoing task list.
  • Create and manage a schedule.
  • Employee evaluations including temporary labor.
  • Manage and hold accountable to Spectrums policies and standards.
  • Attend all necessary internal and external meetings.
  • Participate in efficient project closeout.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must have minimum of 2 years as a Lead Mechanic or based on skill level.
  • Advanced Blueprint reading.
  • Ability to act as a competent person.
  • Must have consistently and successfully managed projects that finished at or better than budget.
  • Complete understanding of the scope of work and the requirements of the job.
  • Advanced computer skills with knowledge of MS word and excel
  • Complete knowledge of the mechanical &/or plumbing code/trade.
  • Ability to manage people of all skill levels.
  • Identification and assessment of all site safety hazards.
  • Planning and communication.
  • Working knowledge of Trimble and CAD.
  • Complete leadership book reading.

LICENSES/SPECIAL TRAINING:

  • A Journeyman’s license in the respected trade.
  • OSHA 30
  • Driver’s License
  • Participate in company specific leadership trainings

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to lift tools, material, and equipment up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
